New Orleans, Louisiana

This town has history plus entertainment for those who love the nightlife! Whether you are looking for a rooftop bar (like the Hot Tin at the Pontchartrain Hotel or if you love a rooftop pool (such as the Ace Hotel), New Orleans has something for every couple.

While this town is best known for jazz and exotic drinks, it has more food options than you can shake a sax at! Try the crawfish and swine fries at the Bevi Seafood Company. It wouldn’t be a trip to New Orleans unless you stopped at the French Quarter. Try Brennan’s for some soul food that you won’t forget.

If you find you ate too much, hit the tree lined, breathtaking views of the mansions in the Garden District, then hit up the rotating carousel bar at the Hotel Monteleone where you can toast your sweetie in New Orleans style.

The Cayman Islands

Islamorada, Florida

Only a short 90 minutes from Miami, this little island offers postcard perfect beaches, sportfishing to die for, not to mention Everglades National Park. It might be small, but this island is big on night life, so you can hit up the fish during the day and then hit up the dancefloor after dark.

Orcas is the largest island and during the summer, there are 16 hours of daylight! The Crow Valley Pottery and Gallery offer items from more than 100 artists and Moran State Park offers the beautiful Cascade Lake and romantic picnic spots.

The Bayside Inn at Ship Bay offers sweet little cabins, as well as Kingfish Inn, which is right on the water. Both offer terrific food, such as the freshly caught halibut tacos. Take a kayak tour or one of the many ferries which offer trips to the other islands.

Bora Bora

One of the best-known spots for honeymooners and romance, Bora Bora is a small but beautiful island in the South Pacific that has water so clear, you can see the colorful fish from shore. You can stay at one of the waterfront bungalows at the Four Seasons Bora Bora or check out the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort for a truly Polynesian treat.

The island offers lots of romantic packages that include everything from jet ski rides to water bikes, massages and mud baths. Don’t forget to create your own perfume at the Coqui Coqui Perfumery.

Yaron Island, Japan

For those who feel they have done it all and seen it all when it comes to island hopping, this is a completely different type of trip. This island is surrounded by coral and is perhaps Japan’s best kept secret. The ferry only operates a few times a day, so be sure that you plan your trip carefully. If you miss your ferry or want to stay for a few days in Japan, stay at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo.

There are not many resorts on the island, which has kept it pristine. Two locally operated resorts are the Hoshizunaso or the Pricia Resort Yoron, which come highly recommended. Ask the owners what times you can see the infamous sandbar on Yurigahama beach and where you can find Misake’s Shaved Ice stand. This island is secluded and has limited room availability, so you and your partner can feel like you are all alone in this little piece of paradise.
