Their Job may look easy, but this could not be further from the truth. These veterans have worked their way to the top through hard work, sheer will and undying passion and you would not believe the amount they cash in on a yearly basis. Samantha Steele Ponder – $5m

Samantha is an American sportscaster. She hails from Phoenix Arizona. Currently, she is the host of the Popular Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN. In 2012, she got engaged to Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Christian Ponder. The couple now have two children.

Michael Strahan – $17m

Strahan was born in Houston Texas. He began his career as a footballer and he started out by playing for the Texas Southern university.His football career got a boost when he joined the New York Giants where he played for fifteen good years. During his career he set a record for most sacks in a season. He retired from football in 2001 and picked up another passion: Journalism. Currently he is the analyst on Fox NFL Sunday and also the co-host of Live!

Matt Lauer – $28m

Lauer graduated from Ohio University, Athens where he studied communications. His career in the World of Journalism began in the 1970s as a producer of the 12 o clock News for WOWK-TV in West Virginia. He co hosted the The today Show for NBC for two full decades. His career however began to take a downward spiral when a female NBC employee accused him of sexual misconduct. He was terminated from NBC late last year as a result.

Wendy Williams – $15m

Williams was born in New Jersey. Before delving into the world of Television, she was a radio DJ and host. In no time she gained recognition in New York and was christened” Shock Jockette”. Her career as a Journalist began when she started working for WVIS in the United States Virgin Islands. William’s big break came when she was offered a six week Television. Trial of her own talk show by Debmar Mercury. The show was titled “The Wendy Williams show”. The show not only had a successful run but also caught the eye of Fox which signed a contract with Debmar Mercury to have it broadcasted on
their Stations. Williams has received a plethora of awards in her career. She is also a renowned writer and has published seven books so far.

Cari Champion – $1m

ESPN

Born and raised in Pasadena California, Cari Champion is an American broadcast Journalists and Television Personality. Champion attended the prestigious University of California where she majored in English. She landed her first Job when she moved to West Virginia. According to her, it wasn’t a very pleasant experience, but her enthusiasm and passion for the world of Journalism fueled her. She joined ESPN in October 2012 and since then, she has steadily ascending. Currently, she anchors the morning editions of Sportscenter

  Sean Hannity – $29m

Sean began his career by hosting a Radio talk show at the College Station KCSB in 1989. However, things turned sour when his show was cancelled less than a year later. He did not get his big break until 1996 when he was hired by Fox Co-founder, Roger Ailes. At Fox, Sean hosted a Television program Titled “Hannity and LTBD”. But Hannity would not stop there. He relocated to New York and began working for New York Talk-radio Station as well, where he hosted the The Sean Hannity show which amassed mass popularity. Adding to his list of accomplishments he is also a renowned writer, he has written several books including but not limited to : Let Freedom Ring: Winning The War of Liberty over Liberalism and Deliver us
from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism and liberalism.

 Jon Stewart – $25m

Stewart was born in New York to a Professor of Physics and an educational Consultant. Due to his nature of making people laugh in school, Stewart attempted to have a go at Comedy. In later years, he developed the popular talk show The Jon Stewart Show” on MTV. The sky seemed to be the limit for Stewart as he acquired more accomplishments under his belt as the years progressed. He garnered the highest popularity in his career when he began to host The Daily Show; a satirical news program on Comedy Central.

Anderson Cooper – $11m

CNN

Cooper was born in New York City to the writer Wyatt Emory Cooper and Fashion Designer Gloria Vanderbilt. In his College years, Cooper spent two summers as an intern at the CIA. His passion for Journalism kicked in and he sought out to follow his dreams rather than remain at the Agency after school. Sometime in the early Nineties he spent a year in Vietnam where he studied the Vietnamese language at the Vietname National University, Hanoi. Cooper has openly declared his homosexuality. According to The New York Times he is the “Most prominent openly gay journalist on American television”

Tomi Lahren – $200k

Tomi spent her childhood in Rapid City, South Dakota. Seeking to find a place in political commentary, she applied at One America News Network, but instead of an Internship, she was offered the opportunity to host her very own show. She received worldwide attention when a video of her commentary concerning the 2015 Chattanooga shootings went viral. In May last year , she joined Great America Alliance and in August she joined Fox news as a contributor.

George Stephanopoulos – $10m

Stephanopoulos is the Chief Anchor of ABC News. He supersedes the Network’s Coverage on all Major Live Events and breaking news all around the Globe. He has conducted a plethora of Interviews with several prominent personalities like Presidents Barack Obama, Vladmir Putin and Donald Trump. His scope is not just limited to the realms of politics alone. He has an outstanding list of Accolades and awards like two Cronkite and Three Emmy Awards.

Meredith Vieira – $11m

Vieira was born in providence, Rhode Island. She majored in English at Tufts university. After her graduation in 1975 she sunk into the world of Journalism which was her passion. She began her career as a News announcer for Worcester, Massachusetts radio Station. In a short time she began working as an on- air Reporter for WCBS- TV in the City of New York. Hoda Kotb – $2m

Kotb landed her first on air Job at WXVT in Greenville Mississippi. After the Firing of Matt Lauer amid sexual misconduct allegations, Kotb appears as the Co- anchor in the Today show alongside Savannah Guthrie. Kotb is also a writer and currently has three books published. She is an advocate for breast cancer awareness; she herself has undergone Mastectomy and Reconstructive surgery for breast cancer.

Brooke Baldwin – $1.5m

Balwin is a graduate with a dual degree in Journalism and Spanish. She began her career in the world of Journalism at a local News Bulletin Channel at Virginia. In 2008, she landed a Job at CNN where she has since received the highest exposure in her career. Baldwin has conducted a several interviews for many prominent personalities. She was the one that reported the death of Osama Bin Laden in 2011. She covered Former American President Obama’s second inauguration in 2013.

 Jake Tapper – $300k

Jake is best known as the chief Washington correspondent for CNN along with his anchor show ” The lead with Jake Tapper”. As a freelance writer, Tapper wrote several articles. In 1998 he began his full-time Journalism career. He was senior writer for the Washington City Paper for the span of Two years. Tapper joined CNN in 2013 where he hosted his popular program “The lead with Jake tapper” which won three National Headliner Awards. He became the host of CNN’s Sunday show “State of the Union with Jake Tapper” where he does not hesitate to engage politicians in heated conversations. For example, he once asked Hillary Clinton about the FBI investigation into her private email server. Another instance was when he challenged Senator Bernie sanders to release his tax returns.

Kelly was born in New York. She started out not as a Journalist but a Lawyer. She later found her passion for the realms of Journalism and decided to pursue her dreams. She started out as an assignment reporter in 2004. She was hired by Fox News that very year as a Correspondent in Washington D.C.. She became the Anchor of The Kelly File in 2013 which rose to prominence and became one of the Highest watched Cable news Programs on Television. Last year she announced her exit from Fox to Join NBC News.

Bill O’Reilly – $20m

O’Reilly started his Journalism Career at Local News Outlets around the Country. He has gathered several Emmy Awards in his career. He hosted his very own program “The O’Reilly Factor” on the international News Station Fox NewsThe O’Reilly Factor quickly garnered popularity and became a top rated Cable News Program. O’Reilly has also written a host of bestselling books like Killing Jesus. His career took an unfavorable turn when he was fired from Fox news after his history of Sexual harassment Allegations were revealed to the public via The New York Times.

Brian Williams – $10m

Brian started his career in WCBS -TV in New York city where he won his first Emmy Award. This would be the first of many Awards. He later secured a spot as NBC News where he ascended to become anchor and Managing Editor of NBC Nightly News. He however received huge backlash after he gave false accounts about being in a helicopter that was shot down in Iraq. 

Erin Andrews – $2m

Andrews started her career as a freelance reporter at Fox sports Florida in 2000. In 2004 she started working as a reporter for ESPN National hockey Night. In 2012 however, she left ESPN to Join Fox Sports. She has made several appearances in numerous shows like “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show”

Wolf Blitzer – $5m

CNN

Blitzer attended the University of Buffalo where he received a B.A in History. He ventured into the world of Journalism by reporting Politics and International Affairs for the Reuters News Agency. He joined CNN in 1990 as the Military Affairs Correspondent. Wolf has received a plethora of awards in his career. He was CNN’s Senior White House correspondent from 1992 to 1999, covering the Bill Clinton Administration. He is a Veteran that has acquired years of unparalleled knowledge and experience in U.S politics and International Affairs. 

Don Lemon – $150k

Don has gained worldwide recognition for being the host of the CNN show “Tonight”. While in college, Don had worked for WNYW Network in New York as a News Assistant. After graduation, he worked as an anchor and investigative reporter at KTVI St. Louis. He gradually ascended the world of Journalism and in September 2006, he joined CNN. He has gained recognition due to his outspoken nature. He does not hesitate to criticize the state of Cable publicly. He has on many occasions shared his opinions on ways in which the African American community can improve themselves. He currently hosts CNN Tonight

Al Roker – $8m

Roker was born in Queens, New York. Growing up, he aspired to become a cartoonist, but in later years he would come to realize that Journalism was his true passion. Roker started his career at WHEN-TV where he anchored Weather Reports. He elevated through the world of Journalism and today he is the weather Anchor on NBC’s Today In his career, Roker has several Awards under his belt such as The Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Morning Program and Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class Program just to mention a few.

Kelly Ripa – $16m

Kelly was born in New Jersey, USA. She did not initially set out to be a Journalist but rather an actress. She began her career as a Dancer, appearing in T.V series “Dance Party USA” this launched her into Stardom and within a few years she appeared in another successful Series  “All  my children”. She is presently the Co Host of the syndicated morning Talk show, Live! With Kelly and Ryan. She was won several awards such as Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host .

Nancy Grace – $3m

Grace was born in Macon Georgia. She did not start her career as a journalist but rather as a prosecutor; a path she decided to take after the Murder of her fiancé Keith Griffin. She earned a Masters in Law from New York University. Her Career in the world of Journalism started in 2005 when she joined CNN headline News. There, she anchored her on show titled Nancy Grace from 2005 to 2016.

Robin Meade – $750k

Meade was born Ohio, USA. She attended Malone University and Ashland University where she majored in Radio/ Television Production. In 1992 she contested for the Miss Ohio beauty pageant and emerged as the Winner. She ventured into the world of Journalism by starting out as a Reporter for WMFD-TV. She has since then worked her way up and is the lead news Anchor for HLN’s Morning show Morning Express with Robin Meade. She won a regional Emmy award for covering the collision between a school bus and a train in Illinois in 1995. Adding to her accomplishments, she has also ventured into music. She has so far released two country music albums Titled ‘Brand New Day’ and ‘Count On Me’.
